This panorama of Memorial Stadium shows a “Sea of Red”
and the greatest fans in college football, as the Nebraska Huskers
football team play for another victory. Since 1923, Memorial Stadium has
been the home to Huskers football and, after completion of the East
Stadium expansion, it seats over 92,000 fans. Rich with tradition and one
that began in the 1950s, Husker fans continue to celebrate the first score
of every home game with the release of red balloons into the sky. Another
Nebraska tradition, when fans applaud the opposing team, win or lose,
embodies the moral code of Huskerville - doing things the right way is
more important than the result.
