Poster Caption: This aerial panoramic photograph of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium ... features an OU Sooners football game against rival Oklahoma State Cowboys. The first game at this site took place in 1923. The field was named Owen Field after Bennie Owen, OU's head coach at the time, who became a charter member of the National Football Hall of Fame. In 1925, the first game was played in what was then, a new 16,000-seat stadium. Today, Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is one of America's most recognized football stadiums and now ranks among the 15 largest on-campus facilities in the nation with an official capacity of 82,112.
