The Denver Broncos began as one of eight American Football League (AFL) charter franchises in 1960 and entered the NFL with the merger of the two leagues in 1970. With one of the best records in pro football over the past 50 seasons, the Denver Broncos have been one of the most consistent winners in professional sports. The Broncos won their first AFL game ever played, and they captured their first Super Bowl win in the 1997 season - the first of back-to-back Super Bowl Championships. The Broncos' success on the field is more than matched by a spectacular fan base. Denver has sold out every home game since the beginning of the 1970 season, marking the second-longest active streak in the NFL.
